Lewis MacGregor Estate Vineyard

In 2014, we had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase the 3-Starrs Vineyard. The team was so impressed with five tons of Chardonnay they had purchased in 2013 from this Eastside Road property that when all 30 acres came up for sale, John jumped at the chance to add it to the Williams Selyem estate portfolio.

Now named Lewis MacGregor Estate Vineyard, in honor of John Dyson’s grandfather who first taught him about agriculture by planting tomatoes in their front yard, this property is destined to produce exemplary fruit. The first release of these wines was in 2016. New Pinot Noir clones were planted to replace the Chardonnay, which initially dominated the acreage. The existing clones of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay have already produced stellar wines. This is an exciting new vineyard for the winery.

In addition, Williams Selyem committed to preserving wetlands on this unique site and is farming the vineyard in accordance with sustainable practices approved by the Sonoma County Winegrowers.

Agriculture requires patience and commitment. The Williams Selyem team is dedicated to developing these estate properties, with the ultimate goal of growing grapes with the same persistent care and attention provided by the founding growers.
