Following the outstanding first release of the Lewis MacGregor Chardonnay, the 2015 is a superb follow-up offering. Notes of spiced pear, white peach, and toasted hazelnut meld with a hint of honeycomb in this richly aromatic wine. With a little aeration, the wine offers some aromas of Galia melon that further add complexity and intrigue. The entry is fat and rich with flavors of poached pear and pear skin, and an underlying note of nutmeg. The flavors are consumed with the sensation of crushed rocks and minerals, and excellent acid on the finish.
