2017 Vista Verde Vineyard Pinot Noir

Notes of cranberry, plum, and berry mix with notes of dried flowers, and add a delicacy to this otherwise brooding wine. Sourced from various blocks on chalky limestone hillsides, there is a signature flinty quality both on the nose and in the mouth. The Vista Verde offers a softly textured palate of plum and berry flavors. The acid is seamlessly integrated and provides structure all the way to the delicate, mineral-driven finish.

Reviews

93 / Vinous

The 2017 Pinot Noir Vista Verde Vineyard is understated, polished and classy. Although not the most overt wine in this range, the Vista Verde has a purity to its fruit that is simply fabulous. Dark red and purplish berries, hard candy, spice and wild flowers infuse this succulent yet mid-weight Pinot full of immediacy and appeal. A.G.

90 / California Grapevine

Medium-light to medium ruby; attractive, fragrant, spicy, red cherry, raspberry, and cranberry fruit aroma with hints of dried flowers and forest floor; medium to medium-full body; rich, fleshy, red fruit flavors that are elegant and silky in the mouthfeel; medium tannin; lingering aftertaste. Very appealing to drink now as it developed with airing, or over the next two to four years. Very highly recommended. 90

91 / Wine & Spirits

A reductive, oily oak note at the outset resolves quickly to reveal a bright cherry scent. The flavors are simple but jubilant, a pure red burst of cherry flavor dusted with cinnamon, red toned and bright throughout.
