2017 Vista Verde Vineyard Late Harvest Gewürztraminer

The 2017 offering exudes textbook Gewürztraminer aromatics of jasmine flowers, rose oil, and stone fruits. Vanilla and nutmeg, imparted from fermentation in French oak barrels, mingle with these intoxicating aromatics to excite the senses. Beautifully balanced on the palate, the sweetness is offset by an excellent tannin structure and sound acidity. Hints of chalkiness on the finish add an additional layer of complexity in this elegant offering. Serve with a stone fruit tart or frangipane.

Reviews

92 / Wine and Spirits

This late-harvest wine is more about energy than power, with assertive acidity driving its tangerine scents and luscious pineapple flavors. It’s golden hued and weighty, but with persistent freshness to pair with soft white cheeses. P.J.C.

91 / Wine Enthusiast

Loads of plumeria, jasmine, gunpowder, and green tea aromas show on the nose of this balanced sweet wine. The palate is luscious, with honey, pear extract and ambrosial flavors cut by bright acidity and an underlying tannic tension. M.K.
