Located on the northern section of Westside Road, the Bacigalupi Vineyard enjoys a warm microclimate in a cool growing region. The pure nose of red, blue, and black fruits jumps out of the glass and immediately captures your attention. More subtle notes of tangerine peel studded with cloves add a layer that keeps you looking for more. The flavors lead with hints of blackberry and blueberry and transition to notes of pomegranate. Lively acidity freshens up the palate and carries the finish to a wonderful earthy, minerally conclusion. This is a beautifully proportioned wine.

From a site known as famously for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this red is big in flavor and power, with a robust body of baked cherry, rhubarb compote and clove. Rounded oak supports without distraction as jolts of acidity add tension and vibrancy. —V.B.
