2012 Vista Verde Vineyard Chenin Blanc

The 2012 Limestone Ridge at Vista Verde Vineyard Chenin Blanc exhibits textbook Chenin Blanc characteristics. While somewhat reticent on the nose, notes of quince, green apple, lime, white flowers and smoky minerals emerge from the glass with some aeration.  These aromas are mirrored on the palate and enveloped in a depth and complexity that can only be achieved when the site, viticulture and winemaking are in perfect harmony.  The laser focus of the acidity is the perfect counterpoint to the waxy richness that will allow for a long, slow evolution in the bottle. Pair the 2012 Chenin Blanc with rich preparations of seafood or even with a rabbit fricassee.
