Mark’s pursuit to take over the wine industry, required the ultimate sacrifice – a 3,000 mile move from his family and hometown of Boston to Northern California’s wine country. His path became clear… After a short stint teaching, he joined a small direct marketing agency to work with companies as diverse as Starbucks, Warner Brothers and Microsoft. With the pull of the wine industry still a priority, he worked weekends volunteering at wineries to get hands-on experience and ultimately transition to wine marketing and sales.
Fast forward to 2020, Mark has nearly 30 years of marketing experience and 15 years at Williams Selyem under his belt. He is the VP of Sales and Marketing and prides himself on leading a dynamic sales, marketing, and hospitality team to achieve their best every day.
Mark also serves as the President of Board of Directors of the Sonoma County Vintners (SCV) and is Vice President of the Sonoma County Vintners Foundation, which oversees the charitable giving programs on behalf of the SCV. He also actively participates in the Wine Institute, The Sonoma County Wine Auction, The Sonoma County Barrel Auction, and other community-based organizations and fundraisers, furthering his reach for both Williams Selyem and Sonoma County wines.
When he’s not at work he can be found at the farmer’s market or in the kitchen pursuing his passion for fine cooking with his wife, Christie and daughter Paloma. On the weekends they enjoy the beach, surfing, playing fetch with their new Aussie, and drinking Williams Selyem wine.
