Luke began his hospitality career at Bradley Ogden’s, Lark Creek Inn in Larkspur,
California. It was here that Luke began his interest in wine, wine culture, and how both
interplay with outstanding local food. In 2007, Kenning passed his certified sommelier
accreditation through The Guild of Master Sommeliers. Shortly after Luke became the
wine director at the nationally acclaimed Farallon Restaurant near Union Square in San
Francisco. In his ten year tenure the wine program was annually recognized with the
“Best of Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator Magazine. During his time at
Farallon Restaurant, Kenning co-produced the highly anticipated wine event PinotFest,
an annual domestic Pinot Noir tasting featuring 60 west coast wineries.
Luke’s interest in culture has led him to visit 24 countries worldwide. Even with all of
our cultural differences, Kenning has found we all come together over a good meal with
family and friends old and new. Through his experiences traveling abroad
Kenning has acquired many important perspectives he incorporates into his hospitality
programs today.
Luke Kenning has worked for organizations such as: San Francisco Meal on Wheels,
Pebble Beach Food & Wine, Tasting panels with the San Francisco Chronicle, Wine
Judge for USA Wine Ratings, Wine Judge Sommelier’s Choice Awards.
