2003 Vista Verde Vineyard Gewürztraminer
Winemaker's Notes
This would be our third vintage of dessert wine from this vineyard. Cold fermented for over 168 days in 100% brand new French oak barrels. Enchanting aromas of Sun Crest peaches, lichee, rose water and spices dictate the nose in your glass. Ripe flavors of peaches and nectarine pie are accentuated by the mouth-watering acidity. The finish goes on forever and would complement fruit desserts.

The Vineyard
The Gewürztraminer was grafted in 1999 from Viognier. It is planted 5 feet by 12 feet or 726 plants per acre. The vines are trained on a goblet trellis cropped at 3 tons per acre. The grapes are typically left on the vine until they achieve a natural sugar content between 32 and 36 Brix. The soil within this parcel is San Benito gravely loam. The vines are positioned from East to West.
