Winemaker's Notes
"The ripe fruit from this vintage offers a perfumed nose of Bing cherries, wild strawberry, mushroom, Asian spice, mint and black tea. I find that the rich and round tannins help to carry the balanced acidity of the wine that follows through long into the finish. A wonderful year in the Central Coast."
Winemaker Bob Cabral
Awards and Reviews
2003 Central Coast Pinot Noir Pretty medium red color. Musky, perfumed aromas of strawberry, raspberry, spices and loam. Juicy, sweet and accessible, with flavors of red fruits, spices and loam. An edge of acidity gives shape to the wine. This will provide early pleasure. More concentrated and less tomato-ey than some past vintages of this bottling. Steven Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, May/June 2005
2002 Central Coast Pinot Noir Very precise and concentrated cherry-like fruit marks this wine indelibly as Pinot Noir from the very first, and, as it opens, it also picks up touches of strawberries, vanilla and cream. Never as weighty as many of its more obviously ripened relations, it is at once rich and fairly light on its feet, and it succeeds on style as much as on mass. Entirely tasty in its youth, it will keep quite well owing to its very fine balance. Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine, June 2004
