After graduating from Western Michigan University in 2003, Jeni spent the summer working at a high end restaurant in her home town of Birmingham, MI, saving money to move west to sunny California. It’s at that restaurant where she was first introduced to some exceptional wines and her love of entertaining friends, family and guests began. After living by the beach in Southern California for 6 years, Jeni and her husband left their corporate jobs behind and moved north to Sonoma County.
Jeni’s wine career began in 2010 at Duckhorn Vineyards where she was their head concierge and hospitality supervisor. While planting her wine career roots in Napa Valley, her heart was always in Sonoma County. After 5 years at Duckhorn, she was ready to bring her hospitality skills to her backyard ‘community’ of Russian River Valley. She couldn’t be more thrilled to have landed at Williams Selyem as their Estate Concierge during Harvest 2015.
Jeni’s favorite memory of a great bottle of wine is a 2005 Howell Mountain Red Wine from Duckhorn paired with filet mignon from Starks, her favorite local Steakhouse. She’s been lucky enough to travel to some beautiful wine regions but the two that stick out are Provence, France and the Leelanau peninsula in Northern Michigan. “I could drink rose all day everyday overlooking the rolling hills from the medieval town of St. Paul de Vence in Provence”
When away from work you can find her at the Sonoma County Children’s Museum with her two young girls Lillian (3) and Piper (1), entertaining friends, or dreaming of where to travel next!
