John Bucher John Bucher has been growing Pinot Noir for Williams Selyem since 1999. His vineyard is broken into three distinct areas, L Block, House Block and the Raspberry Block.
Vineyard Bio The Bucher family has owned the land for the vineyard since 1958. John Bucher’s long-standing interest in viticulture and enology, coupled his wish to diversify the family farming operation, made grapes the ideal crop. After much research, John planted vineyards.
Personal Bio Born and raised on the family ranch in Healdsburg, John graduated in 1984 from UC Davis with BS in Ag Sciences and Management. A farmer by profession, John is a past president of the Sonoma County Farm Bureau, and in 2003 received the “Outstanding Young Farmer” award from the Sonoma County Harvest Fair.
John has three children, Elizabeth 12, Hannah 11 and Jack 8. His mom and dad, Joe and Annemarie are still active on the farm.
Keeping farming economically viable will keep our agricultural lands in open space. We are committed to producing high quality agricultural products from milk to wine grapes.
